Why did you apply to Working and Traveling program?
A: I had set a goal to do different plan in every summer vacation during university years. Furthermore, I never stayed abroad for several months. As the results, the program attracted me exactly. The year to be senior, I chose to be the one of the members of Working and Traveling program. In addition, Florida is a fantastic place so. I was dying to visit Sunshine State

How did you fancy about the U.S.A. life?
A: I have the experience that stay in Europe for a month. I knew western life was full of craziness and happiness. I expected I can make new foreign friends, to adventure unknown, and to take responsibility for my daily life.
Q3:
What was your daily life in America?
A: I have to work 4 to 5 days per week. I hoped I can get around 45 working hours every week to support my daily life, pay the rent, and save money for vacations, but I only get about 32 working hours percentage per week. I have to go to Walmart 1 time in five days for weekly food. To cook for myself and my friends. To have party and hang out all night with friend and colleague. To schedule days off to where I want to visit. I worked in a water park as a lifeguard and I had to bear the hot temperature everyday.
Q4:
What is the most unforgettable experience in America?
A: The racial discrimination sometime disturbed me. I was insulted by a white family and fight with them. One time when I went to Key West, a white man crashed me and my other friends intentionally and a black couple pointed to us and roared” What the fucking Asian bitch. Another experience was when I and my friends go to watch MLB, a white man talked to his friend” There are some fucking Asian, let’s get away.”

What are the differences between America and Taiwan?
A: Weeds. Although weeds are illegal in Taiwan and USA, I and my friend only dared to really enjoy weeds in USA. The reason is having weeds in party is a common situation in USA and none will call polices to arrest who smoke weeds. After coming back to Taiwan, I never have weeds again.

Is the Working and Traveling program in America a good experience for you?
A: Absolutely is. I had so many muscle lifeguard colleagues and made so many friends. In addition, I visit many tourist attractions which only the native residents know, like Wekiwa Springs State Park Pond, where we could row boats, and Clear Water Beach, where I enjoyed sunbathing and saw underwear sexy guys.
Q7:
What is your most ideal place to visit next time?
A: Palau. I want to see the ocean spectacle there, like coral reef and Big Drop-off and I can dive with fishes there. I believe that it will be really a fantastic and unforgettable experience in my life.
